After recently spending some time at my Mom's house, assessing the daunting task of packing it up, I came across a book which I had gifted to my Mom several years ago. It's entitled, “Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy". I immediately picked it up realizing I needed some light reading.
In one of the book's chapters, Barbara Johnson described a Joy Box. She began filling a shoe box with jokes, funny stories, cartoons, funny poems, etc. Soon it began to overflow and eventually she created a Joy Room. (Definitely an out of the box thinker!)
When I shared the Joy Box idea at a recent Warden's meeting, we decided that we could begin an Ascension Joy Box. Please email ([email protected]) or drop off in the mail slot a funny story, joke, cartoon, etc. to be added to our Joy Box. We will share a joke or two in our weekly newsletters.
Remember, laughter is to life what shock absorbers are to automobiles. It won't take the potholes out of the road, but it sure makes the ride smoother. B. Johnson
