As we endeavour to do, we want to keep the parish well aware of the financial realities of running a church.  This latest financial update also comes with a request for your consideration.

The Update

In short, parish offerings have decreased since last year.

In comparing offerings given from January through May in both 2022 and 2023 we note a decrease of 20%.

Actual numbers are (from January to May each year, including open offering + parish offerings through PAG & envelopes):

2022 = $35,773.16

2023 = $27,695.11

The reasons for this include changes to our parish list through deaths and people moving away, as well as the economic downturn and the impact on some of our regular givers. In response, the corporation continues to keep a close eye on expenses and has done everything it can to decrease where possible.

Unfortunately many of our fixed costs - property tax, insurance and utilities have gone up and there is nothing we can do about that.  We are also working hard to increase the rental usage of the property in meaningful ways to help us cover costs.

That said, offerings are still our main source of income.

The Request

If you have already increased your givings for this calendar year, we are very grateful.

If you haven't done so, and you are able to do so, we would ask for you to prayerfully consider doing so.  If you are on our PAG program, you simply need to send an email to our envelope secretary, Pat Hasler (phasler@rogers.com) indicating the amount you'd like to increase.

Any amount you are able to offer helps us work towards a balanced budget!

The Good News!

Always good to end with good news.  The Diocese approved the rental agreement with the Where We Grow - Before and After School program.  That will start in September once government approvals are obtained.  This will help our finances, but will not relieve all of our expenditure needs.

We will provide another financial update in the fall.

If you have any questions please speak to one of our hard working wardens.

With gratitude for all you do and all you give to this community.
