Are Lakes Feeling the Heat?

The Research Committee of the Scugog Lake Stewards is excited and honoured to host Dr. Sapna Sharma, Professor, Department of Biology at York University at their first SCIENCE SOCIAL Event of 2024.

Dr. Sharma is a prominent researcher and speaker on climate change and how it affects lakes and other water bodies.  Among other awards and positions, Dr. Sharma has been inducted to Royal Society of Canada – College of New Scholars; Awarded the Canadian Council of University Biology Chairs Science Promotion Prize; and Ontario Ministry of Innovation and Training Early Researcher Award; to name only three of her many accolades. With over 125 publications and editorials in print, and a leader or member of United Nations subcommittees on water and sustainability, Dr. Sharma is a speaker not to be missed.
