Service for the Third Sunday of Easter

Opening Hymn  Alleluia! Sing to Jesus Link to Hymn

Alleluia! Christ is risen. The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He gave us new life and hope by raising Jesus from the dead.

Rejoice, then, even in your distress.

We shall be counted worthy when Christ appears.

God has claimed us as his own.

He called us from our darkness into the light of his day.

Alleluia! Christ is risen. The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Collect

O God, your Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread. Open the eyes of our faith, that we may see him in his redeeming work, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever.  Amen.

Closing Hymn Shine Jesus Shine Link to Hymn

Benediction

The light of God surrounds us;

The Love of God enfolds us;

The power of God protects us;

The presence of God watches over us;

Wherever we are, God is. Amen.

Announcements

1. Ruthanne and Phil are working towards recording different elements of the service, including the readings and sermons.  As we adjust to what this requires, bear with us.  We will continue, though to provide a text of the whole service for those who access it in that way.

2.  Maggie Reddin would like to offer her heartfelt thanks to the parish, and particularly for the ministry of The Rev. Phil Gearing, who presided at her mother's funeral in early March.

3. Moving forward we are happy to share relevant parish announcements you might have, please forward them to either Ruthanne or Phil by Thursday of the week you would like them printed.
