Opening Hymn   Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness Link to Hymn

Gathering of the Community

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of us, now and evermore. Amen

Collect

Let us pray.

Creator of the mysteries of the universe, be present to us in our earthly journey.  As we sing, consider and pray, teach us how your Spirit moves in our midst.  Fill our hearts with hope and the compassion to share that hope with the world.  In the name of the One who was from the beginning, Amen.

The Apostles' Creed

In response to the hearing of the Word let us join together in confessing the faith of our baptism,

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

The Offertory Prayer

O God, you are eternally giving of yourself. Fill us fresh that we might share your blessings with those we meet.  Receive all that we offer you this day to the glory of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Doxology

Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we could ask or imagine. Glory to God, from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen

Blessing  (from Psalm 57)

Let us sing with the Psalmist,

I will sing and make melody.

Awake, my soul!

Awake, O harp and lyre!

I will awake the dawn.

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;

I will sing praises to you among the nations.

For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens;

your faithfulness extends to the clouds.

May the blessing of God, Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer,

the One who holds us in a heart of faithful love,

be with us this day and always.  Amen

Announcements

Congratulations to the team, led by Rev. Phil Gearing, who put together a grant proposal for money towards a camera and computer that will allow us to easily livestream and record in the church.  We were granted $5000 towards this endeavour through the Reach Grant program at the Diocese of Toronto.  Along with a great pitch and lots of work by Phil, we were blessed with the technical support of Ivo Finotti and our warden Gillian.  We are also grateful to the Diocese for supporting churches in this way as we adapt to a new way of being a community.

Priest on the Lawn - Tuesday August 18th, 10 am - 11:30 pm, weather permitting.  Join us for conversation and connection.  Drop by for a visit!
