Indigenous Peoples Day - Tuesday, June 21, 2022

On National Indigenous Peoples Day 2021 at noon, Mayor Drew and members of Scugog Council with Chief LaRocca of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations dedicated a Land Acknowledgement that will be permanently installed at the front of the Township of Scugog Municipal Office. Church bells rang, followed by a moment of silence to honour all of the children and their families who suffered due to the residential school system.   

The Township of Scugog will once again be acknowledging Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, 2022. Please stay tuned for details.
