Almighty and eternal God, you have made of one blood all the nations of the earth and will that they live together in peace and harmony; so order the course of this world that all peoples may be brought together under Christ's most gentle rule; through Jesus Christ our Lord who is alive with with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and for ever.

Homily - The Reverend Canon Ruthanne Ward

Hear, O Israel

Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

This is the first and the great commandment.

The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.

There is no commandment greater than these.

Confession & Absolution

Dear friends in Christ, God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy; he welcomes sinners and invites them to his table. Let us confess our sins, confident in God’s forgiveness.

Silence is kept

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers of the People

The Peace

The peace of the Lord be always with you.  And also with you.

Offertory Hymn: CP  #384  (vs 1,2,3,6)

Prayer Over the Gifts

Eternal God, by your grace you have raised us up and enthroned us with Christ in the heavenly realms. Receive all we offer you this day, and lead us in those good works for which you have created us. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord.

Eucharistic Prayer 1 (BAS 193)

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.  It is right to give thanks and praise.

It is indeed right that we should praise you, gracious God, for you created all things….Therefore, with them, and with all your saints who have served you in every age, we give thanks and raise our voices to proclaim the glory of your name.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Holy God, source of life and goodness, all creation rightly gives you praise…..Therefore we proclaim our hope. Dying you destroyed our death, rising you restored our life. Lord Jesus, come in glory.

Recalling his death, proclaiming his resurrection…

Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory is yours, almighty Father, now and for ever.  Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

The Breaking of the Bread

We break this bread to share in the body of Christ

Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.

The Agnus Dei

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, grant us peace.

Communion Hymn:  CP #48 Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence

Prayer After Communion

Almighty God, you have made us a royal priesthood in the kingdom of your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Make known his love through us, we pray, that all the world may see his light. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord.  Amen

The Doxology

Glory to God, whose power working in us can do more than we can ask or imagine.  Glory to God from generation to generation, in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever.  Amen.
