Affirmation of Faith: Hear O Israel

Our Lord Jesus Christ said:  Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord: and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it.  You shall love your neigbour as yourself.  On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets.

The Prayers of the People

Confession and Absolution Dear friends in Christ, God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy; he welcomes sinners and invites them to his table. Let us confess our sins, confident in God’s forgiveness.

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our     neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Preparation of the Gifts

The Prayer over the Gifts  Giver of life, receive all we offer you this day. Let the Spirit you bestow on your Church continue to work in the world through the hearts of all who believe. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord.

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Holy God, Breath of life and Fire of love....therefore, in the great company of all who have gone before us and have served you in every age, we give you thanks and raise our voices to proclaim the glory of your name.

Sanctus CP# 719

We praise you, loving God, for the gift of your Son..Remembering therefore, his death, resurrection, and the sending of the holy and live-giving Spirit, we await his coming to renew the face of the earth...in your holy Church, both now and forever. Amen.
