Recently, the Diocese of Toronto updated their protocols for the pandemic during worship.  Slowly and very cautiously we are starting to open up and allow a few things we've missed for a long time.  That said, whenever necessary - either as a diocese or more locally - we may impose restrictions again.

Here are some of the changes you will notice on Sunday mornings if you attend church or watch online...

  • we are allowed to have a small choir, properly distanced and wearing face masks, sing during the service - we are currently working on this and starting up choir practice soon.  We look forward to hearing some of our wonderful choir singing again in November.
  • those speaking at the lectern - to read, preach or pray - may take their mask off while speaking.  They will continue to wear their masks to and from the lectern, and while seated anywhere in the congregation.  (This does not include the Eucharist - the priest will continue to wear a mask throughout the Eucharistic Prayer and while distributing the host.)
  • we are only required to clean "high touch" surfaces, but will for the time being wipe chairs, doors and other fixtures in the church after each event
  • hymn books are allowed & help us to save on printing cost.  You are invited to pick up a hymn book when you enter the church
  • we are allowed more than 25 people now on a Sunday, but still with all distancing and other requirements in place

But some things haven't changed yet....

  • you need to wear your mask throughout the service and can only remove it to receive the host
  • chairs will be properly distanced to allow for that requirement - please do not sit with someone unless they are a part of your own household or regular 'bubble'
  • if speaking to another parishioner before or after the service, please maintain a proper distance
  • santitize your hands upon entering the church
  • DO NOT COME TO CHURCH IF YOU FEEL AT ALL UNWELL, OR HAVE BEEN NEAR SOMEONE WITH COVID - IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING, DO NOT ATTEND CHURCH UNTIL YOU HAVE QUARANTINED OR RECEIVED A NEGATIVE TEST - THANK YOU.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hestiate to speak to a warden or to our priest, Ruthanne.
